Our primary overarching goal is to build a college-going culture within the Redwood Coast with a specific focus on building pathways into careers in Education and Healthcare for our local students. Using the Recover with Equity strategies, we believe we can achieve this through: inclusive support for students, high-tech high-touch advising, college preparation, early credit opportunities, and broadband access to students.

Much of our work is done to create change within the educational system, which means we provide K-12 schools and institutions of higher education with tailored resources for direct student services that reduce barriers to success. We strive to support students by connecting educational institutions and community partners to build distinct, sustainable, pathways for students into careers in healthcare and education. For direct student supports we offer, please see our Resources page.

Our pathway facilitators work within K-12 schools in their respective regions to learn about school systems and student populations to incorporate and distribute resources and opportunities and build sustainable connections with community partners.

Our Graduate Student Workforce Navigator works within Cal Poly Humboldt's Advising Center to support a warm hand off from the Pathway Facilitators particularly for first generation college students as they navigate their four-year plan and prepare for their post-baccalaureate options.

The Phase 1 Regional K-16 Educational Collaborative Grants are made possible by $350 million appropriation to the Department of General Services (DGS) as stated in the California Budget Act of 2021.

More information about how the grant is being funded.

Yes! Phase 1 Grant Awards were awarded to a total of 9 regional collaboratives throughout the state of California. Learn more.

The Redwood Coast K-16 Education Collaborative serves students in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, and Lake Counties.

The Collaborative will leverage existing infrastructure to increase higher education degree attainment, improve degree completion, and support residents in earning employment in higher-wage, higher-skill jobs that meet the region's economic and labor market needs. This will, in turn, improve socioeconomic mobility and lower the poverty rate. We will prioritize braiding funding with other regional economic efforts to ensure sustainability of pathways.

For direct student support we offer, please see our Resources page.
